Melissa Beck

Melissa has been dancing for over 17 years and is certified to teach through Dance Masters of America, teaching for her third season at Dove Dance OKC. Currently, Melissa is pursuing her Entertainment Business degree with an emphasis in dance at St. Gregory's University under the direction of the renowned Liz Reiter. She has training in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, pointe and modern to name a few. In earlier years, Melissa performed throughout Oklahoma and with a specialized event in New York City as a Senior Company Member under the direction of Susan Webb. She is excited to call Dove Dance her home, which has enriched her life greatly.

Philippians 4:6-7: Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Rachel Tice -

Rachel has been dancing for 10 years; she has trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, pointe, hip-hop, and tap. She has been a part of the Dove Dance ministry for 7 years. Her desire is to dance and glorify the Lord in all areas of her life. Rachel has a love for missions and has expressed this by traveling to China, Arkansas, and Las Vegas, only to name a few, with the Dove Dance ministry dance team. She is extremely involved with her home church and is currently on their youth leadership team. She has choreographed a variety of numbers for church productions and has taught and led praise & worship through dance at her church. Rachel also has had the honor to dance for the "Night to Honor Israel" celebration for several years with the Dove Ministry team.
 
    At competitions Rachel has been awarded with many regional and national awards with groups, duets, and solos. She has also received several special judges awards for her solos, some which were self-choreographed. Rachel won overall in jazz and tap audition high scores and was awarded 4th runner up DMA Teen Miss Dance of Oklahoma in 2008. In 2009, she won overall tap auditions high score and was awarded 1st runner up DMA Miss Dance of Oklahoma. In 2009 she was also voted Senior Company member of the year by all company members at Dove Dance. In 2010, Rachel won overall ballet and acro audition high scores and placed 2nd runner up Miss Dance of Oklahoma. Rachel has taken master classes with; Mia Michaels, Tyce D'Orio, Laurieann Gibson, and Dave Scott, just to name a few. This past dance season she was Dove Dance's Intern; her Desire for this year is to continue to grow as a student and even more as a teacher.

Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send, Who will go for me?" and I said " Here I am Lord send me!"

Stephanie Crosby

Stephanie Crosby, a native to Jacksonville Florida, began her dance training at 31/2 at Polly B Dance Academy. She currently holds a Masters of Arts in Dance from Florida State University as well as a BFA in Dance and was awarded Cum Laude honors from both Universities. In Pontlevoy, France in 2005, she studied under Tonu Veiler (Ballet Estonia), Tony Thatcher (Laban), Dr. Ana Sanchez-colberg (Laban), and Christina Teague-mann (Backlight Dance company). She has taught dance courses at both Florida State University and Jacksonville University. Her most recent accomplishment was working with The Leyte Dance Theatre Company in Tacloban City, Philippines. Currently, two of Stephanie’s Choreographic works are included in Leyte’s traveling repertory, which will be touring the United States in 2010. She is excited to be joining Dove Dance for her first year as well as Oklahoma City’s finest professional modern dance company Perpetual Motion.

Andrea Dougherty

Andrea graduated from Western Kentucky University with a BFA in Performing
Arts with emphasis in Dance. Upon Graduation, the Lord opened many
opportunities for her to perform. She was a featured dancer for three years
with the award-winning Country Tonite Show in Pigeon Forge, TN and Branson,
MO. Andrea has been married to her husband, Shain, for three years, who is
currently pursuing his Masters of Musical Theatre at OCU. She feels very
blessed to be teaching at Dove Dance this year!

Anna Ellis

Anna joined Dove Dance during it's first summer in 1994. During this time, she has enjoyed performing, competing, and instructing. Anna holds her BA in Human Services Counseling, a Minor in Sociology, and her Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy. Anna was a member of her pom squad in junior high, high school, and college. In addition, she is certified by Dance Masters of America in Jazz. Anna has been married to her wonderful husband, Jerimy, since 1992 who is a Real Estate Broker. They enjoy their fantastic son, Benjamin.

Along with furthering technique and performance ability, Anna's goals for each of her classes include each student developing a deeper understanding of the love of Christ, a respect for their bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit, and a heart for ministry to the Glory of God.

Her favorite scriptures are:
 
Isaiah 40:30-31, "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Allison Stearns

Allison Stearns is currently a senior at Oklahoma City University and will receive her Bachelor of Performing Arts degree in May 2011. Allison trained in classical ballet and jazz at her hometown studio in Little Rock, Arkansas, and attended numerous summer workshops including Ballet Magnificat's summer intensive for 3 years. 
She has performed leading roles in OCU's dance productions and was selected for the OCU American Spirit Dance Company tour in the spring of 2009 and 2010. She is currently working on her senior project of choreographing her debut piece for the annual OCU Choreography Show this fall.

DeeAnn Moren

Dee Ann began teaching at Dove in 2002 and oversees our 3 through 6 year old classes. She has training in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe and acrobatics. She was also       involved in twirling, cheerleading and was flag corps captain and chaplain for Enid High School Band.  As an adult, Dee Ann has performed, choreographed and taught for many churches. She was the dance leader under well-known worship leader and song writer, Dennis Jernigan, at Western Hills Church in Oklahoma City. For seven years, she was the flag corps instructor for Comanche High School Band. Dee Ann has been married to her husband, Billy, for 26 years.  Dee Ann is the mother of 3 children and is a part of the children’s leadership at Heritage Baptist Church.

Angeli Powell

Angeli G. Powell came to Dove Dance Studios in the fall of 2005. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Oral Roberts University and 20 years of experience in teaching private piano an voice. She also has ten years of experience in directing children's church choirs and musicals. Her training in classical ballet helps in choreography and stage presence. She has performed with several music and dance groups throughout the years which included touring in the US and overseas with Impact Production's, "The Toymaker's Dream". Her desire is to see the students at Dove Dance sing and perform with freedom and ease as they communicate the gospel message.

Emily Canavesio - teaching at okc studio

Emily has been training at Dove Dance for 12 years, and is now looking forward to expanding in her dancing by becoming a teacher intern. She has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, acrobatics, and pointe. She was the 2008 Teen Miss Dance of Oklahoma and traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete for the title of Teen Miss Dance of America, and was also the 2009 DMA grand champion in the 13 and over category for Oklahoma Chapter 27. She has been involved with many ministry events such as mission trips to China and Mexico, dancing at the Children’s Center, Dancers Against Cancer, and involvement with the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem to name a few.
She has choreographed state award winning dances, and has a passion for choreography. She is the Vice President of her Jr. Class and is involved with school activities and has been attending her home church for 12 years.

Rebecca Zeese - Ballet Instructor Oklahoma City

Rebecca began her ballet training at the age of nine in Colorado Springs, CO.  Her initial ballet training was in the Chechetti method taught by Mavis Pakenham at the Colorado Springs Ballet Academy.  Rebecca studied at the Marshall School of Ballet in Houston, TX for 2 years and finished her classical dance training, in the Russian Method, in Lubbock, TX under the tutelage of Dr. Peggy Willis-Aarnio, Ph.D. and Galina Panova.  She was a soloist with the Willis Ballet for 8 years and she had the privilege of performing alongside and touring with the Russian based ballet company of Marina Medvetskaya: the St. Petersburg Ballet Classic.  She has danced several leading roles in such classical works as Grand Pas de Quatre, Giselle, Gaite Parisienne, Coppelia, and a number of variations from Paquita, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and Esmeralda; as well as, several new contemporary ballets.  She was selected numerous times to perform in Tango, Modern, and Jazz ballets, specifically choreographed for her by such choreographers as Galina Panova, Michael Mayes, and Shelia Kleinman.  More recently, she has performed with the Dove Dance Soar Company - as a guest artist, with the Michael Mayes Dance Company of Dallas, at the Janey Slaughter-Briscoe Opera House in Uvalde, TX, as well as, in Denver Independent Choreographers Project.

Rebecca holds a B.A. in Dance with an emphasis in Ballet Performance from Texas Tech University.  She has attended the International Congress for the Teaching Method of Classical Ballet taught by Dr. Peggy Willis-Aarnio, Ph.D. for 8 years.  Therefore, she has become well versed in The Teaching Method of Classical Ballet developed by Agrippina Vaganova.  She has been actively teaching students of all ages for 12 years, not only at the studio level, but also, at the Collegiate Level. 

She resides with her husband and two beautiful girls in the Oklahoma Metro Area.

Kristin Reed Klade -

Kristin Reed Klade has completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet Pedagogy at the University of Oklahoma, under the instruction of Mary Margaret Holt. In addition, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies. At OU, Kristin was a member of the Oklahoma Festival Ballet Company where she performed solo and corps roles in numerous productions. She has also performed principal roles in productions such as The Sleeping Beauty and The Firebird with the North Central Civic Ballet Company in Keller, Texas. Kristin trained extensively with ballet masters in the Fort Worth area including Karen and Fernando Schaffenburg, Svetlana Stanova and Nicolai Semicov. In addition, she completed two American Ballet Theater summer intensive programs. Later at Broadway Dance Center in New York City, she studied ballet and contemporary jazz for six months under Jack Hertzog, Natalya Stavro, Brice Mousset, and Salim Gauwloos. In 2006, Kristin really developed her love for teaching when she was a teaching assistant and later an intern for the Children and Teen Program at Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Kristin later became a full time dance instructor at Footlights Christian Dance Studio in Lewisville, Texas. Kristin’s choreographic works include pieces for many ballet companies, dance teams, and individuals throughout the years. Her contemporary choreography was recognized at the Regional Dance America Southwest Festival and was chosen to be in their prestigious Emerging Choreographer’s Showcase. Other recognition includes solo and ensemble awards at dance team competitions across Texas, as well as talent based scholarships in the Ballet and Religious Studies Departments at OU.

Along with teaching dance, Kristin currently works part time at her church in Norman as a campus minister to the students at OU. She participates in liturgical dance performances at her churches both in Fort Worth and in Norman. Kristin is also highly interested in interfaith dialogue and in dance as global language. She has been abundantly blessed and knows that it is God’s love and grace that allows her to dance and drives her to share her passion with others.

Ben Lanham

Ben Lanham is a Dance Performance major at Oklahoma City University from Cincinnati, Ohio. He performs regularly at OCU as a member of the American Spirit Dance Company. Ben was both Teen Mr. and Mr. Dance of Ohio with Ch. 16 of Dance Masters of America. He was awarded 2nd runner up for both of the national competitions as well as winning the tap award among others both times competiting. Ben trained at Starstruck A.D.A. and competed regularly with them prior to college. He also furthered his training at numerous conventions as well as regularly attending the Chicago Human Rhythm Project directed by Lane Alexander. Ben has been lucky enough to study privately with Lane Alexander as well as perform multiple pieces of his choreography. Ben currently studies ballet, tap, jazz, as well as theatre and voice at OCU. He aspires to be on Broadway after he graduates.

Rachel Moren

Rachel has been studying dance since the age of four. She is trained in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Pointe, and Lyrical. She graduated from Putnam City North High School where she was Show Choir dance captain. Rachel has been blessed to be a part of many ministry opportunities such as promoting the YES program for underprivileged children with OJ Rhone, former player for the Kansas City Royals, performing  with the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem for several years, and dancing at many churches and other events as well. She has had the opportunity to take master classes with Kathy Thibodeaux, Jo Rowan, and others. Rachel has been a part of Dove Dance Soar Company for 8 years.  She has won many state and national awards with dances such as “It Is Finished-The Passion”, ”Oklahoma!”, “Freedom to Dance”, “A Place for Rosa Parks”, and others. 

Rachel is a sophomore at University of Central Oklahoma and is studying to obtain a degree in dental hygiene. This is Rachel’s 2nd year teaching at Dove Dance and she is very excited. Her favorite scripture is   “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.“ Matthew 5:5,6,8

Savannah Tardibono

Savannah has been dancing for 17 years at Dove Dance. She is trained in ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, pointe, and acrobatics. Savannah is in the process of obtaining her DMA certification. Her heart is with Dove Dance’s vision of spreading the love of Christ to the nations, teaching girls on a weekly basis, mainstream dance arenas, and various dance outreaches and ministries. She has been involved in dance performances with the International Christian Embassy of Jerusalem since 2002, and has been on dance mission trips. One of her highlights was being a part of the Dove Dance China Team that was invited to dance in the 2008 Olympic Festivals in Beijing.

Savannah has been graced with numerous regional and national awards in groups, trios, and solo competition. Savannah was the 2009 Miss Dance of Oklahoma and the 2007 Teen Miss Dance of Oklahoma.  At the Teen Miss Dance of America in 2007 in New York City, she placed 3rd in the tap audition and tied for the high interview score. She was also a member of the pre-professional tap team, The St. Louis Hoofers Club under the direction of Robert Reed II. She has been the Jr. Member President for DMA Oklahoma Chapter 27 for two consecutive terms. She has co-choreographed routines which have won state choreography awards.  In 2010, Savannah choreographed for Dove Dance’s SOAR Kids and Pre-Company which won the Petite Large Line State Championship at DMA. Savannah has enjoyed master classes with Jimmy Slyde, Nick Lazzarini, Patty Obey, Tyce D’Orio, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Kathy Thibodeaux, and Dave Scott to name a few. She is an active member of Church of the Harvest, and enjoys ministering with her dance at church conferences and services. She is attending Southwestern Christian University to obtain her bachelor degree in Biblical Studies. 

Colossians 3:23 is her favorite verse: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.
