As a shy child, my parents made it their goal to find something I enjoyed.  The first time I went to dance class, I knew this was a form of expression that freed my spirit in a way I had never experienced!  With the support of my parents and teachers, my knowledge and respect for the art of dance deepened.  A passion for God and dance came together as a teenager when I committed my life to Jesus and gave Him all I had, including my dance.
Since that time, I have followed the calling to share dance with others who desire to express their love to the Lord through this powerful language.  At Dove Dance, the quality of dance training is not compromised in exchange for strong spiritual content.  Instead, one compliments the other.  We are dedicated in serving our students at each age and level.  Thank you for your inquiry. We hope you will consider becoming a part of our school.

Sincerely,

Daphne has studied dance for 34 years and directed Dove Dance for the past seventeen. Certified to teach through Dance Masters of America, she has served on the Oklahoma board and as treasurer. She was a guest master teacher at the 2005 American College Dance Festival as well as a current adjunct dance instructor at SCU.   Her work with young people and the dance community was recognized by the Women’s Oklahoma Hospitality Club who named her as a 2008 Oklahoma Woman Honoree.  Her choreography has received ten awards from various organizations over the past three years.

Throughout her career, she has been a member of three dance companies. Since 1996, her students have won 26 state overall DMA championships and placed 2nd in the 2006 National Championship with “The Passion.”.  Some of her former students have gone on to work full-time in Branson, join prestigious ballet companies, receive college dance scholarships, hold state titles in the Miss Teen America & Miss Deaf America systems, and DMA Oklahoma Titles in all four age divisions.  Her students were selected as the children’s dance cast for Grammy award musician’s, Dino Kartsonakis, Branson show. She was also invited by Mr. Kartsonakis to choreograph and create a new theatrical show for him and his wife Cheryl.  As Mrs.Oklahoma 2001, Daphne shared her original program, 3-Dimensional Mentoring, with parents, teachers, and youth.

Dove Dance has been featured in national publications such as DANCE Magazine, Dance Spirit, and Dance Teacher.  The company also was invited to dance in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Festival which opened many mission outreach opportunities in China.  Daphne and her husband, Joseph, have been married for 22 years and have 4 children. They are active, 17-year members of Church of the Harvest. After her relationship with the Lord and her family, Daphne’s greatest joy is sharing the gospel through dance & teaching others to do the same.

One of her favorite scriptures is “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
James 4:8
